NRA High Power practice, McComb, May 17

NRA High Power practice at SWGC McComb May 17. The COF would be based on NRA Service Rifle :

Basically 66 rounds:
2 sighters then 2x 10 rounds slow fire offhand in 10 minutes;NRA High Power
2 sighters then 2x 10rds in 60 seconds, one mandatory reload, rapid fire sitting (NRA rules start in position, magazine with 2 rds remains on ground/mat until command of “commence fire”.Those firing the “Rifle, M1” aka Garand will close action OVER the 2 rounds and then load upon the command “commence fire”)
2 sighters then 2x 10 rounds in 60 seconds, one mandatory reload, rapid fire prone (NRA rules start in position, magazine with 2 rds remains on ground / mat until command of “commence fire”. Those firing the “Rifle, M1” aka Garand will close action OVER the 2 rounds and then load upon the command “commence fire”)
sighters for the second and third stages are optional and may be omitted if shooters consent, as although target is different on stage 3, distance is the same.
Stages 1 and 2 are fired on the SR1 (reduced 100 yd target to simulate firing at 200) and stage 3 is fired on a reduced target (SR-21)to simulate 300yds.
This is good practice for those who want to / already do fire the NRA Service Rifle XTC “across the course” matches.

Please send a PM to Scharfsch├╝tze if you plan to come, or if you have any questions. Sign up 8:30 match begins at 9:00. Match fees $10.

Was a beautiful day for the practice. I used my M-1, checking my journal I hadn’t fired it since last year’s state championships last June. The results show.
SWGC will be registering a HP SR league with the NRA for classifications. The NRA SR course of fire will be shot on reduced targets (SR-1, SR-21, and MR-31) to simulate firing the XTC COF at 200, 300, and 600 yards. I will post as soon as dates are set.
